Commissioning Manager
Start - immediate
Salary - £400 to £500 per day

Primary Care Trust is looking to recruit a Public Health Commissioning Manager on an interim basis. The successful candidate will provide public health leadership to support commissioning at sector level. This role will be fore 6 months in the first instance with possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
-To serve as an expert resource on the public health input to commissioning and ensure that patient care services are commissioned on the basis of sound evidence of effectiveness and need working alongside Public Health strategists and other staff as appropriate
-To develop specifications for services to be commissioned, defining access criteria, quality standards and clinical governance arrangements, and expected outcomes.
-To advise on and work within a framework for implementing and monitoring commissioned services.
-To organise, support or otherwise contribute to activities that promote professional knowledge and understanding of service planning, evaluation and performance improvement as a public health priority.
-To work with Local Authority to support the development of their commissioning plans in relation to public health and health improvement.
-To work with emerging GP commissioners to support the development of their commissioning plans in relation to public health and health improvement.
