I am looking for someone with strong network skills with an element of Project management experience. A large financial group with an IT Focus seek a Project Manager. This IT Project Manager will join the DC & Infrastructure team in providing technical solutions and support. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years experience. This will be an initial 11 month fixed term contract.

Qualifications/Experience "Ideal" candidate will have

  • Degree in IT/IT related discipline
  • Project Management Certification.

Experience in some or all of the following core skills:

  • Cisco Firewalls (ASA)
  • Cisco Routers/Switches.
  • Juniper Firewalls (SSG, ISG & SRX)
  • WAN Communications (MPLS, Frame Relay)
  • TCP/IP over LANs and WANs
  • Network Services (DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.)
  • VPN/RSA
  • ISP environments
  • Internet Technologies (Email, Proxy, Firewall)
  • Network Management (SNMP)
  • Encryption and Digital Certification
  • File Transfer protocols, specifically connect direct, sftp and https, preferably over the Sterling Integrator application.
  • Unix/Linux/Windows
  • Load Balancers, F5 and Juniper DX.
  • SSL based encryption
Beneficial - MS Project, MS Visio, MS Exchange Key Tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple IT projects or jobs of work concurrently to deadline deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and others involved in the project deployment.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Proactively monitor and measure project projection driving the necessary corrective actions if they are needed.
  • Provide support to the Business project teams in planning and implementing network change to facilitate project functionality against set deadlines.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and resolve.
  • Relationship management with client throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of project documentation are in place to support the deployment of all new projects.
  • Competent understanding of data centre platforms.
  • Technically competent with various software applications, network devices and appliances.
  • Must be able to understand and adapt to existing and new technologies within the platform.
