Description
Key responsibilities:
- Management of Australian & UK data centres, including Servers, EMC SANS, VMware, Windows and Linux hosts
- VMware and SAN upgrade/reconfiguration project
- Windows server administration, AD security and policies, DHCP, DNS, WSUS etc
- Design, implement, and support VPNs and WAN infrastructure to Client sites
- Audit and implement XP SP3 based SOE and plan for Windows 7 upgrade
- Disaster recovery/BCP planning and execution
- Backup/recovery strategy
- Complete platform security and access controls
- Update and maintain hardware/software asset and maintenance registers
- Update and maintain network, server, VPN configuration and details
- Sydney Data centre rack re-stack
- Implement network/server analysis, monitoring, and capacity planning using Solar Winds, Fortianalyser, Syaid and other tools
- Assist the IT team to diagnose and resolve internal or client issues with 3rd party applications
- Staff and user training
Key requirements:
- Demonstrable skills and experience in managing relatively small but complex and critical multi-site 24x7 Windows Servers and infrastructure, VMware, AD, EMC SANs, XP, Exchange, WSUS, AV, Windows 7, VOIP systems
- Experience setting up and working with SNMP based monitoring tools for proactive management and capacity planning, eg Solarwinds, Nagios etc
- Supported bespoke Windows based applications using SQL Server 2008
- Excellent documentation skills, ie MS Office, Sharepoint intranets/wiki
- Defined and managed small technical projects
- Experience working with external suppliers to provide seamless infrastructure services
You'll also ideally possess:
- Exposure to Linux, preferably RHE
- Systems integration, application/workflow support experience
- ITIL or similar experience/qualifications
- Experience with SQL
