One the most established and high profile government department is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Java Developer/Technical Lead to join their team for an initial 9 month contract in Canberra. The successful candidates will be involved in performing Applications Design and Development for a number of large high profile projects. 

To be successful you must be able to demonstrate the following:

• Strong Java/J2EE/JEE Design & Development Skills
• Experience with Object Oriented concepts
• Knowledge of and experience with SOAP, XML, JMS, EJB 3 & Web Services
• Rational Application Developer
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Highly motivated and focused on delivering quality outcome
• At least 7 years recent experience developing Java/J2EE/JEE applications

Experience in the following areas would be highly regarded, but are not essential:

• WebSphere Portal Server;
• WebSphere Portlet Factory;
• IBM Lotus Forms;
• WebSphere Integration Developer;
• WebSphere Process Server;
• Database design & development;
• WebSphere Application Server; and
• Experience working in a SOA environment.
