Description
Nomura has built a sophisticated security event monitoring platform, based on the Arcsight SIEM technology and integration of external intelligence feeds. The continued effectiveness and dynamic enhancement of this platform is of paramount importance to protective monitoring of IT systems and electronic information.
Role description:
- The role will lead ongoing development of threat detection strategies, working with other global expertise in security operations and leveraging the existing Nomura Threat Model. Refinement of current approach is encouraged as this is an innovative security monitoring environment. On a day-to-day basis, the role will implement the necessary correlation rules and operational procedures, and assist transition into the centralised Security Operations Centre.
- Familiarity with incident investigation and log analysis will also be important as the role will assist regional business hours cover for incident management.
- Applicants will need to hold expertise in Security Operations and the Arcsight SIEM technology.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Proven experience and understanding of enterprise technical security coupled with a strong understanding of the broader area of information security.
- Deep knowledge of the Arcsight monitoring platform, design and deployment.
- Event correlation from various feeds to identify trends, patterns and possible business process weaknesses (Threat Model)
- Deep understanding of networking essentials
Desirable:
- Financial services sector experience preferred
- Database experience -SQL Database experience highly preferred. (SQL administration and Scripting)
- Reporting, metrics and event correlation experience.
Successful candidates will be engaged under a contract for services by Resource Solutions.
