If you're a Unix Systems Administrator who loves supporting highly technical customers, check this out! Our client, a leader in Storage Technology, has Unix Systems Administration Support Engineer contract opportunities. As a Support Engineer you will be providing telephone and email support to their external customers. You will also be able to learn Network and Cloud Storage very deeply. Unix System Admins with a strong ability and desire to learn new technologies are encouraged to apply.
To be considered for this role, you must have very strong Unix Systems Administration experience. You will be the person helping their customer's Systems Administrators troubleshoot their problems, determine root causes, and ultimately help fix the problems. You must also be very cool under stress and pressure, and an excellent verbal and written communicator...it's the nature of the job. To be successful in this role, you must be a motivated self-starter and self-learner, possess strong customer service and technical problem-solving skills, demonstrate initiative, and be someone who embraces challenges.
Qualified candidates for this role will also have a working knowledge of some of the following protocols and applications: Virtualization, Networking (Brocade and Cisco), TCP/IP, remote file access and file sharing protocols and/or RAID 0 and 4. Previous NAS or SAN technology knowledge or experience a preferred plus, but not necessary as you will receive significant training
This is a 24x7x365 Technical Support organization and non-rotating shifts may vary but typically are Mon-Fri, 7AM-4PM; Mon-Fri 10AM-7PM; Mon-Fri 3PM-12AM; Fri-Sun 7PM-8AM; Fri-Sun 7AM-8PM. Please specify in response your desired shift(s), if any.
