IP/MPLS- Network Engineer

Australia's broadband industry is at the forefront of a broadband networking revolution, the market is transitioning form ATM networks to IP/MPLS networks. One of Australia leading broadband providers is upgrading 45 core sites and establishing IP/MPLS environments.

Key duties:

  • Network detailed design in IP/MPLS network.
  • IP/MPLS network implementation covering the installations, testing & handover.
  • IP/MPLS network system integration, service performance management, capacity management.
  • Provide higher technical support to NOC and other operations teams with regards to IP/MPLS network.
  • Execute configuration changes and software issues fixes.
  • Perform the handover acceptance for new implementation.
  • Proactively perform corrective maintenance for IP/MPLS network.
  • Produce periodic reports about the network activities, network performance and capacity.
  • Execute the plans of preventive maintenance tasks
  • Operational technical support for IP/MPLS network.

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering Telecommunications or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years experience in Telco IP/MPLS network as an engineer
  • 3 years design experiences in IP/MPLS core network
  • 3 years troubleshooting/support experiences in IP/MPLS core network
  • Experience in Network integration, commissioning and site inspection
  • Experience with MPLS technology including L2/L3 VPN and traffic engineering.
  • Excellent skills in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Routers and Switches.
  • Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, ISIS and BGP).
  • Expertise in QOS design and configuration is a plus.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Visio.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
