Our client in Richmond, VA is looking for a Senior Project Manager possessing real-world experience implementing large, complex projects.  This role will work within the Client's Program to ensure successful delivery of projects at the client site. The projects will be conducted utilizing the most appropriate delivery methods including Waterfall and Agile.  The successful candidate must have had experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and in delivering solutions in a Lean/Agile environment with a working knowledge of Scrum methods.

Required Skills:
- Ten or more years of experience managing large, complex business and technology transformation projects
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
- Expertise in systems development methodologies including both waterfall and Rapid Application Development; recent experience with Agile development required
- Expertise in project planning and control tools and techniques including audit ability, Earned Value Analysis, Critical Path Method, Gantt, Project Charter, status reporting, issue management and quality assurance
- Familiarity with a formal project management methodology (eg, PMBOK, CMMI).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with software engineers to convey requirements and ensure software design meets stated requirements
- Demonstrated ability to define project scope and schedule milestones and work with system development team to meet milestone dates
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project scope and or resource changes

Responsibilities:
- Applies significant management and leadership experience to ensure successful delivery of business supporting systems/applications
- Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area including technical work, task management and business process activities.
- Leads project risk assessments and defines deliverable acceptance criteria; balances project needs and demands with operational capabilities of the organization
- Direct the project team through the full system development life cycle (SDLC) of the project
- Initiate and develop program and project work products including: Project Charter, Project Scope Statement, Project Schedule, Detailed Project Plan, and Project WBS.
- Identify resource requirements and coordinate the assignment and scheduling of tasks.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor and control task progress.
- Supervises assigned technical staff, including contractors.
- Monitor actual project hours and costs against the project/program estimates and budget.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, management, and project stakeholders on status, issues, risks, and project goals and objectives.
- Report status to project stakeholders through multiple formal communication methods.
- Track and quantify risks in the Project Risk Tracker and mitigate risks with project stakeholders.
- Coordinate SME and BA resources to produce application development requirement specifications and use cases.
- Performs program financial management services, including financial analysis, budget and cost quote preparation, cost management and reconciliation.

Desired Skills:
- PMP or other project management certifications are desirable
- Certified Scrum Master
