Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Telecoms - Market Leader - Hampshire

My client, a global multinational telecommunications company, is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team for a 2 months rolling contract

The purpose of the role is to deploy, administer, troubleshoot, configure, tune and monitor information systems components.

Duties
* Implements, manages mission critical or complex operating systems and environments on various platforms. Resolves server-related end user hardware and software service requests.
* Develops and maintains procedural documentation. Documents existing configurations. Identify/automate tasks. Manages escalations
* Supports third-party applications on managed servers.
* Investigates new technologies. Tests, plans and upgrades operating systems/environments.
* Designs, implements and enforces company systems standards, backup and monitoring methodologies and security policies.
* Develops junior staff for cross-platform expertise. Leads assigned staff in virtual teams.

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Minimum of 5+ years' systems administration and operations experience.
Strong IT Operations background with ideally 3 years telecommunications/managed hosting experience.
Thorough understanding and knowledge of a specific area of technology and/or a very broad understanding of multiple technologies and their integrated interactions.
Demonstrated record of outstanding technical contributions to the company (or elsewhere).
In-depth knowledge of all phases of systems administration, including understanding of competing technologies, operating systems and networking.
Knowledge and understanding of methodologies and standards such as ITIL and ISO27001.
Strong customer-facing skills (oral, written and verbal skills); ability to define and articulate complex process flows

My client is looking for someone with experience in as many of the following technologies as possible; Windows, Linux, Unix, firewall, WAN/LAN, VMWare.
The successful candidate needs to be SC Cleared or be able to go through CV clearance
2 months rolling contract
