QA Analyst

The Business Analyst Specialist-QA Testing position in the California Claims & Encounter Strategy Program (CCES) will support the implementation of the process infrastructure and deployment of a Statewide Claims platform. This project will consolidate all Claims systems throughout California and streamline business practices across multiple departments and functions. This role, while primarily focused on business consulting at a subject matter expert level, will also require extensive quality assurance and testing experience.

Minimum Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business/Health Care Administration or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years experience in business consulting and analysis, to include at least 3 years in a consulting role
Minimum of five years experience in a health plan claims environment.
Minimum of 5 years of practical testing experience of products and projects - both Black Box and White Box testing.
Must be flexible to work with issues spanning several topics and understand position is not restricted to one functional area.
Must possess the following traits and/or skills: organization, communication, analytical problem solving, excellent oral and written skills, understanding of workflow/business processes, documentation technology knowledge (web- and LAN-based), ability to work with project teams in multiple locations and knowledgeable in health plan systems.
Claims administration and the related upstream and downstream departments in multiple regions (eg provider contracting, customer service, etc).

Preferred Work Experience
Preferred certification or advanced qualification by third party association that matches the function or field applicable to the business discipline
Experience with Perot Claims Systems
Experience leveraging automation tools to support testing

Responsibilities:
Identifying and subsequently defining the required tests to certify the product meets the business objectives and requirements.
Monitoring the test coverage and evaluating the overall quality experienced when testing the Target Test Items.
Specifying the required Test Data and evaluating the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle.
Performing test execution both manual and automated (Regression, Functional), conduct test results analysis, tracking test defects and provision of progress reports, re-execution of test scripts once defects are fixed.
Preparing, developing test plans and test cases/scripts as needed.
Demonstrates expertise in functional area business processes and understands assigned and cross functional areas.
Identifies opportunities for increasing testing efficiency through improved automated processes/tools.
Proactively share knowledge across software testing groups on best practices for testing using new and emerging technologies.
Provides timely, effective written and verbal communication on the status of testing activities and effectively manages expectations regarding status, risks and assumptions
Ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained throughout the testing activities.
