Outstanding opportunity for an IT Project Manager. This is a large scale implementation with a complex environment. Multi million dollar project with 20-25 project team members across multiple departments.
- Looking for an IT PM with some healthcare and or insurance background.
- Someone with 7 to 15 years of solid project management experience which includes birth to post install experience.
- Experience handling project financials. PeopleSoft Financial module or similar a plus.
This position manages, organizes, analyzes, and controls all phases and activities of a project team. The IT PM is also responsible for systems development and implementation within the environment. This position also consults with clients regarding current and future business requirements, coordinates activities with data processing units, and processes to achieve required results.
Essential Functions:
- As IT Project Manager you assist with managing key technologies with in our environment.
- Manages a Matrix project team which is responsible for all phases of the system development & implementation process including analysis, design, development, testing, ongoing support for the client area application systems in an environment of diverse development platforms, & computing environment (eg, host based, distributed systems, Client Server), software, hardware, technology, tools, etc.
- Consults w/clients in the analysis of short & long range business and technical requirements
- Recommends innovations which anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements and technology
- Organizes, analyzes, & controls the activities of the project team
- Request necessary personnel for the various projects & directs their activities
- Reviews & evaluates the work of the staff & prepares periodic performance reports
- Prepares activity & progress reports for the team as directed by management.
- Responsible for detailed project budget.
- Tracks & reports development status (schedule, budget, milestones, metrics, key events, risks & issues) to appropriate manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, or related field
- Substantial experience, typically 8+ years in systems analysis and application program development
- Previous experience, typically 3+ years in direct supervisory and management position
- Extensive knowledge of the system development, life cycle, system and application program, & development technology alternatives
- Can lead a large-scale project or multiple smaller projects
- Excellent analytical ability and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and other IT staff
- Knowledge of environment a plus or insurance background a plus.
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness interfacing and negotiating with clients, internal customers, and vendors

- RPM
- Lotus Notes
- PMP a plus. (But not required)
- CSM a plus. (But not required)
