Our Global Systems Integrator client has an immediate requirement and role, for a long-term contract consultant:
This position will be part of an software team focused on working closely with clients and other stakeholders. A qualified candidate will work with the Architects, Principal Engineers and the Business Community to identify requirements and develop solutions for telecom inventory and provisioning solutions using industry standard development techniques and technologies. This person will be required to work in an iterative development environment. Candidate will be responsible for solving a wide array of Java and related business problems

Essential Duties:

  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Designs, develops, modifies, debugs, and evaluates cost-effective information technology solutions for use within internal functional areas
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives for moderately complex applications
  • Applies developing expertise relating to a variety of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Devises or modifies procedures considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results
  • Works on most phases of programming and analysis activities but requires guidance in other phases.
  • Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Trains users in conversion and implementation of a system
  • May provide on-call/ongoing system support for key business applications

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities:

  • ASP.NET and exposure to SilverLight Framework
  • .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5
  • SQL Server (version 2005 or above), Oracle 
  • Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 
  • C#, HTML, WCF services, Web services 
  • WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) 
  • Experience on Java, Siebel/Remedy (Adapters) integration implementations, GI, Turbo XML, Telecom domain knowledge would be an additional plus 
  • High team spirit & attitude to get things done is must

Role & Responsibilities 

  • Should be able to understand Business requirements and relate them to SOA Design & Implementation 
  • Participation in design review and architecture implementation meetings
  • Provide guidance and design SOA Solutions for the development team 
  • Develop high level/low level design specs for development team
  • Independent in designing and developing complex business process, web services and integration with various end systems
  • EMS administration including develop scripts to create topics, queues, bridges, purging, FT mode setup, monitoring
  • UDDI setup and develop processes to access it
  • To develop complex EDOs/ESB Design, WSDLs, Schemas and XML translation mappings
  • Support deployment activities and develop automated scripts for Unix Environment
  • Develop various database procedures, triggers, views and complex SQL queries
  • Generate various reports for reporting
  • Responsible for development of unit testing specs
  • Maintain and resolve issues in highly complex integration architecture
  • Support various testing cycles including integration, UAT & regression testing
  • Onsite/Offshore coordination and working overlapping hours as appropriate
  • Follow up with various end application owners to resolve issues

Qualifications 

  • Test Data Management, specifically implementing data masking for privacy and/or sub-setting
  • Configuration Management, specifically implementing the following CA/CMDB related products/features; ITCM, ITPM an APM. And, defining and implementing extensions to the CMDB data model for custom CI's 
  • Development and Testing life cycle processes, specifically automation of processes around migration or promotion and demotion of database and/or application code elements. The "business" customer in this case is IT. 
  • Experience with Projects supporting any of the following:
  • Impact Analysis
  • Release Planning and Management 
  • Change Validation 
  • Set-up and configuration of Environments
