Description for the Senior Java Developer:
The most important technologies and methodologies that are used within the program are:
Java, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, JUnit, JiBX, XSD, JAX-WS (including WS-Security), SOAP, Maven, Jenkins and SCRUM.
The Senior Java Developer analyses and translates architecture and design documents into software products. You will test it yourself first (preferably automated) before they are forwarded to the test team. Finally, he/she will document finished products carefully.
Required Knowledge and Skills for the Senior Java Developer:
- Will have excellent knowledge and understanding of the latest theoretical and technological developments in the field of software development: do initial ideas/concepts into useful development strategies;
- Have demonstrated experience working in mission critical projects with a high risk factor;
- Is an excellent team player in a complex network environment;
- Has extensive knowledge of (open) standards and open source;
- Has experience developing within open source communities and/or complex partnerships with multiple development parties;
- Has proven experience and training in the implementation of projects using RUP or other iterative development methodology (Agile, SCRUM, OpenUP);
- Have demonstrated experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD);
- Is able architecture concepts in detail to understand;
- Has experience in e-government and/or municipal ICT;
- Has a strong conceptual thinking;
- Excels in clear language, both orally and in writing.
Training and work experience for the Senior Java Developer:
- University work/thinking level
- Minimum 4 years of experience in developing systems where a relational database is the center (information)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in developing web services
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Spring or similar framework
- Minimum 2 years of experience with JPA/Hibernate or similar framework
- Minimum 2 years of experience with JUnit or similar testing framework Wish
The following properties are preferred:
- Experience with SCRUM or similar agile methodology
- Experience with JAX-WS SOAP or other related web services framework
- Experience with WS-Security
- Experience with JMS
- Experience in setting up Quality Assurance tools (Check Style, Cobertura, Sonar, PMD, etc.)
- Experience in large, complex and lengthy (government) projects
