Description
Engineering Planner working in the Oil and Gas industry. Engineering planners are responsible for the development of detailed engineering plans that meet the requirements of the overall project using a functional Matrix resource pool. The successful candidate will be responsible for regular updating and monitoring programmes for a large portfolio of work.
Responsibilities
- Produce engineering schedules to support design and development programmes bid to delivery.
- Familiarity with standard office software including Project, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook is required.
- Obtain buy-in to the schedule from the whole project team and co-ordinate schedule interfaces between the different areas.
- Highlight key milestone and critical path issues and recommend solutions to correct the position.
- Ensure that the plan is fully resourced and monitor progress to the plan and make changes as required.
- Preparation of progress reports.
- Monitoring actual hours against budgets.
- Ensuring the tracking and proper reporting of plans.
- Analysing and highlighting the problem areas and proposing solutions.
- Planning and assisting in all reporting activities performed within the Engineering Team.
- Ensure monitoring of Engineering and Procurement Planning and reporting, including interfaces with other sites, Project teams, Resource Managers.
- Continuously liaising with all disciplines with engineering in order to perform timely and efficient planning, collecting the data and compiling general planning on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
- Verifying and checking the plans are aligned with project need dates to form integrated planning.
- Ensuring that all schedules prepared are compliant with in-house planning methodologies & procedures.
- Updating all plans for weekly reporting.
- Developing, executing and maintaining the reporting procedures, ensuring they are aligned with the corporate reporting.
- Maintaining a weekly reporting schedule, ensuring that all data is submitted on time.
- Compiling reports based on the data collected for internal review and for dashboard reporting.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement to in-house planning methodologies & procedures.
- Operate within change processing and baseline management and reporting.
Desirable
- Experience of Earned Value reporting and can demonstrate SPI/CPI measures within project reporting functions.
- Knowledge of the timesheet and Web applications would be an advantage
- Knowledge of engineering in the O&G sector
Essential:
- Understanding of the full project life cycle.
- detailed knowledge of Primavera P6.7
- Educated to degree or HND with a minimum of 5 years' experience of working with Primavera Enterprise Software
- Familiarity with standard office software including Project, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook.
