Senior Auditor- City of London, £60-65k for Leading Bank

Job Specification

The ability and desire to drive positive change is central to our remit and successful candidates will be passionate about making a real difference to the Bank's controls and business processes.

Under the general guidance of an Audit Manager the jobholder will:

* Participate in the planning and scoping of allocated audit assignments.
* Identify key risks and the associated controls, and obtain, analyse and appraise audit evidence to form an objective, informed opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment.
* During and at the conclusion of an audit, discuss control weaknesses with staff and management, and identify and recommend practical, cost-effective corrective action to improve controls.
* Draft formal recommendations clearly and succinctly to form the basis for the audit report.
* Liaise with the business in tracking progress in addressing audit recommendations and confirming their closure.
* Conduct all audit work within allocated time budgets and in accordance with the standards set out in the Bank's Audit Manual.
* Gain technical knowledge and understand new concepts through formal training and personal learning, and utilise these enhanced skills in the conduct of audit assignments.
* Provide support to the Head of Audit and Audit Managers by assisting with ad hoc projects and activities.

Job Requirements

* Enthusiastic, committed and able to drive positive change and create business value through the performance of well thought out, thorough audit work.
* Ability to challenge the status quo where appropriate.
* A track record in identifying, recommending and driving through practical, cost effective control improvements.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to openly express views and opinions (and to encourage others to do so) and to produce high quality written outputs.
* Project and time management skills and able to work co-operatively and effectively with others in a team environment.
* Attention to detail, ensuring that outputs are accurate and supportable.
* Able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver within pre-agreed deadlines.
* Educated to degree level. An accountancy or other relevant professional qualification and/or banking or capital markets experience would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of the UK financial services regulatory regime would be an advantage.

NB: Strong candidates will have a robust understanding of funding and liquidity instruments, how they are used and the risk related to them.
