Description
Our client are a global design and manufacture company with a site in the Central Belt of Scotland. They require the support of a Quality Engineer for a 2-3 month contract.
As this position in in an industrial manufacturing environment the right candidate must have relevant industry experience ie have worked on an environment where they are required to read and understand drawings of fabricated parts/welded arts/pressure vessels etc...
The requirement is for some with experience of managing and reviewing the quality of he processes and procedures within the supply chain and assess their ability to deliver what is required. Specifically this will include reviewing customer specifications, reviewing documents against drawings and confirm materials certifications.
The role will also involve;
- Developing and maintaining all quality records including Inspection Test Plans in accordance with client requirements
- Participating in the regular quality review meetings and monitoring the associated corrective action to improve product quality
- Review of Supplier certification and compilation of record dossiers for clients in collaboration with Contracts Department.
- Calibration of measuring equipment for use in manufacture, inspection and test.
Essential Skills;
- Understanding of EH&S function and associated standards
- Ability to liaise with clients and inspection authorities
- Experience of controlling and maintaining quality records and data books
- Ability to Interpret client specifications and contract requirements and report writing
- Experience of developing and maintaining inspection and test plan
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate recent and relevant experience as it relates to the above criteria. A minimum of 3 years experience is necessary to be considered for this position.
