Title: Project Manager

Type: Contract -3 months

Location: Atlanta, GA

Our client is seeking a Project Manager for a 3 month contract position in Atlanta, GA. The Project Manager role will be responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle such as project planning, development, change control, implementation, issue management, customer relationships, project metrics and project team leadership. This project will be upgrading from SharePoint 2007 to 2010 and all associated hardware necessary to support client's enterprise environment.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize requirements and develop and maintain detailed project plans using standard tools. Include project charter and scope, phases, tasks, assignments, dependencies, and target dates. Determine resource roles needed and work with management to secure project team members. Review metrics as necessary and manage actual effort against estimates in the plan to keep the project on schedule and within budget and scope. Establish and coordinate the plan for migration of the project into production. Manage customer expectations and communicate with other groups as needed to ensure successful implementation.
  • Work with Business Systems Analyst to define and document communication plan. Perform analyses for changes to scope and negotiate/recommend course of action or escalate as appropriate.
  • Develop agenda, conduct, and provide meeting minutes so that all appropriate parties are kept up-to-date regarding project status and issues. Ensure that project team members communicate status and issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain a log of all project-related issues, and escalate to management, Business Systems Analyst, or other appropriate parties. Coordinate the resolution of issues and communicate resolution to all appropriate parties. Lead team in identifying and managing risk factors for the project and develop mitigation plans to address the risks. Ensure success of the project by taking ownership of deliverables and assist/perform analysis, testing, support, training, or other tasks as necessary.
  • Direct the tasks of project team members and model team leadership skills. Ensure that team members are allocating time appropriately to project activities and recording accurately in approved time-tracking tool. Work with team members and management to resolve team issues, including escalation as appropriate.
  • Assist management with special assignments, such as evaluating vendors, gathering/evaluating consultant proposals, or other responsibilities as requested.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in an information system role
  • 6 years functional PM experience with application packages and system implementations (ERP, HR, accounting, or other business function
  • Proficient with Excel (including macros, file links, group/outline), and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of SDLC, Forecasting and Metrics
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations for applications and IT
  • Exposure to structured systems development and project management methodologies
