Network Implementer Positions 16 Openings in Redwood City and Walnut Creek

Network Implementer Position Description:

  • Works directly with customers, vendors, and Strategic Partners to identify, troubleshoot, resolve data networking related issues and/or design network solutions.
  • Monitor LAN/WAN connectivity to ensure that all users have the required LAN/WAN connections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues as they arise in and Ethernet and Token Ring environment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware problems.
  • Provide timely and accurate progress status on all ongoing support issues, with an emphasis on problems, issues, and concerns.
  • Monitor telecommunications performance and make configuration changes to hubs, Routers, Switches, etc., as necessary to ensure that maximum network performance is maintained.
  • Work with client groups to ensure that end users have all required equipment properly installed and configured based on specific project requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend new or upgraded products to enhance the performance of the LAN/WAN.

Experience Level:

  • 6-10 Years.

Skill Set:

  • Consultant would have a Bachelor's degree in MIS/Computer Science/Math or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years previous experience in the IT industry. May require certification.

Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications of the Network Implementer:

  • Basic Knowledge of Cisco Commands
  • Responsible and knowledge of inter-connecting Cisco Hardware
  • Familiar with RJ45,568 Wiring, 5 or 6 Category wiring and testing
  • Familiar with fiber Installation and that includes end to end fiber testing
  • Knowledge of copper, fiber and wireless test equipment
  • Familiar with straight thru/crossover/rollover cables
  • Familiar with Rack and Stack of Cisco Equipment
  • Knowledge of proper labeling/organize label to chassis/cables/fibers/chassis/asset management
  • Understand Remedy-Ticketing system
  • Assist with problem determination for undefined problems with VLANS, Power over Ethernet
  • Understanding of power load balancing/UPS/Connector type( L6 -30-R=6509, L5-20 etc)
  • Knowledge of Carrier provider terminology ie TELCO
  • Experience with Vendor management
  • Understanding of Power Over Ethernet
  • Understanding of autonomous/light weight wlan-AP's that include testing and turn up
  • Prepare Technical Documentation and correspondence
  • Prepare and maintain inventory documentation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and image documentation
  • Good working habit and able to work independently and as part of a team

Desired:

  • Familiarity with the features and functionality of the Cisco Unified communications Manager 8.5 and above, Cisco Unity Connection Voicemail 8.5 and above and Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise 8.5 and above.
  • Understanding of VG224 configuration and features
  • Full understanding of Legacy PBXs (NorTel, Siemens, etc.)
  • Ability to access and understand data in Legacy PBX's (NorTel, Siemens, etc.)
  • Network certification preferred
