Description:
You will be working in the Workstation and Server Engineering team within the division of Technical Services - Windows Platforms and Collaboration Services.
This team of 8 system engineers is responsible for:
- Core Windows infrastructure components (staging, OS, ) for Servers and workstations,
- Design of next generation Windows platforms
- Optimization and 3rd level support of the current Windows environment
- Consultancy on projects
- Life cycle management of Windows infrastructure
- Selection, validation and integration of hardware components
Functions:
- Validation of new hardware standards on our client platforms, based on Windows XP and Windows7
- Validation of new peripherals (printers, scanners, ) and associated drivers
- Assist the Workstation engineers in supporting the standard platforms (3rd level support)
- Life cycle management
- Provide consultancy on projects
- Provide clear documentation to the operational teams (eg on Bios configuration)
- Give advice on possible improvements of the system infrastructure
Required knowledge and experience
Bachelor degree in IT

Business experience equired
Mandatory: Experience in large environments
Technical experience required
- Fluent in written and spoken English and/or (French & Dutch) - Candidates with all 3 will be Preferred
- Mandatory: Expert knowledge of Workstation hardware and peripherals/devices.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Workstation operating systems (XP, Win7), mainly focusing on hardware integration (eg drivers).
- Experience with Scripting or programming languages
- Good documenting skills.
Preferable Expeirience:
- Knowledge of latest Microsoft Windows server technology and infrastructure
