Project Manager required for a leading medical solutions company based in Cardiff to lead global cross-functional teams to deliver change in order to meet strategic business objectives.

This position would suit a Junior Project Manager or Project Coordinator/Administrator looking to develop their career experience.

You will be accountable for projects being delivered on time, within budget and meeting all regulatory requirements. The position drives clarity by defining and prioritising the project objectives, critical success factors and objectives for the team. This may include developing a business case to justify project progression. You will motivate the team and drives a sense of urgency on meeting project commitments, whilst controlling risks by a process of risk identification and risk response plans.

The types of projects which may be led include (but are not limited to) production or manufacturing transfers, supplier transfers, and establishing new manufacturing and sourcing processes to comply with changing regulations. The Project Manager will ensure that project outputs are transitioned appropriately to commercialisation through effective collaboration with Global Supply Chain, Operations, Sourcing, IT and the P&L.

You will be expected to present internal project reviews to key stakeholders including senior management, and escalate issues when appropriate to facilitate transparency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelors Degree (Honours) in a scientific or engineering discipline; or 2 years relevant work experience
  • 2 years relevant project leadership experience with an emphasis on healthcare industries is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make compelling presentations in informal and formal settings
  • Ability and record of driving change; committed to meeting goals
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional project teams and an ability to drive project plans to completion
  • Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards
  • Ability to build and motivate teams, building a rapport with other functional leaders
  • Demonstrated influencing and networking skills; self-confident
  • Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince 2 project management certification
  • Experience of working within an ISO:13485 regulated environment
  • Understanding of the Human Identification and Forensics Industry or Molecular Biology experience
  • Experience of LEAN techniques or experience of data analysis and process improvement
  • Participation in projects involving inter-site coordination or inter-company or external collaborative interactions
  • Prior experience of working to GMP or ISO:13485 quality standards
  • Prior experience of working in a manufacturing area
