Job title: Finance Governance Manager

Location: London

Job Description:

Our Client a leading Financial Company are currently seeking an experienced Finance Governance Manager to work in a designated team to ensure that Finance processes, data and systems are governed in a way which maintains the integrity and quality of financial information.

In the short term, this role will lead activities and direct resources which are part of the Finance Roadmap project. At the end of the Finance Roadmap project it is envisaged that a small team will be created under this role. The team under this roles leadership will collectively ensure strong governance over Finance processes, data and systems

oEnsure all Finance and related processes are fully and consistently documented
oDefine governance processes for changes to finance processes
oApprove (or recommend approval to process owner) any changes to Finance processes taking full account of any potential impact on process efficiency and/or impact on quality of management or statutory outputs and cost to implement
oDefine and report on appropriate process metrics and KPIs to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of all processes, relating to external benchmarks where appropriate
oDefine targets for process improvement (efficiency and effectiveness) and drive activities to ensure such targets are met
oDevelop and maintain a data dictionary defining all key Finance data elements eg for each GL account, what type of costs or revenues should be charged to the account
oDefine targets for data quality improvement and drive activities to ensure such targets are met
oReport regularly on data quality
oOwn the Finance structures which support management and statutory reporting including tax reporting eg cost centers, profit centers, internal orders/project codes, material codes, and related hierarchies
oEnsure that all Finance policies are clearly documented and maintained
oBe the Finance representative on cross-directorate forums leading the development of the clients business processes and data standards
