SUMMARY:
Under general direction of the Director, Medical Information (MI) in Global Medical Affairs, the MI Administrative Technology Support Specialist will provide department administrative support with computer application expertise and technology related assistance in the Medical/Clinical Research areas of Nutrition. This will be a 6 month temporary position in which the candidate will be a resource for computer application troubleshooting for SharePoint, EndNote Library and EndNote Web for internal colleagues and provide assistance on rolling out regionally to our regional medical affiliates. The candidate will be the go-to person for smooth searchability, retrieving and obtaining/tracking copyright permissions from Library Services. This position requires a highly competent individual with background knowledge of both, life sciences and business computer programs and applications, who is able to communicate effectively by offering technology solutions to colleagues if needed. In addition, the candidate will perform electronic annotations of medical references, scanning, tracking, and general administrative functions for the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for entering supporting scientific journal publications citation data into an EndNote Library and be responsible for all copyright checks through the Library; Institute a tracking system for requested/purchased articles and copyright permissions from corporate Library Services; Provide group instructions to colleagues for set-up and installations of a reference web application for Nutrition Business. Assist with installation if needed and may need to work with Help Desk Services; troubleshooting EndNote Library and EndNote Web applications for internal Medical/Clinical Research colleagues as well as being an important resource for assisting in the roll out regionally to our global medical affiliates; SharePoint administrative applications for Medical Information; Scanning of non-electronic book pages/documents, applying naming conventions to files and cataloging for our Reference Files; Perform electronic annotations with electronic highlighting tool; Perform general administrative functions within the department (including travel arrangement and expense reports).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree desired, or Associate's degree will be considered with relevant experience in computer software applications and support; Desirable to have a health sciences work-related background to integrate with computer skills; 2 years experience working in an industry setting is a plus.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Excellent technology troubleshooting skills and experience in business software, including Outlook and Excel with experience in EndNote a plus; Experience in obtaining and documenting health sciences and/or medical-type electronic references a strong plus; Understanding of copyright permissions and Corporate Library Services a plus; This position requires acute attention to detail and ability to quickly learn details of position with minimal assistance; Ability to work independently once given an assignment.

MOST CRITICAL SKILLS NEEDED ARE:
IT knowledge of business applications In EndNote Web Citations Manager, eLibrary, publications copyright clearances, SharePoint troubleshooting, must be familiar with scientific literature and the organization of references. Manager does NOT want to see anyone with all kinds of computer expertise that does not have background or familiarity with health sciences. They need to recognize different types of scientific literature and know how to organize them.
