Scientist RF Reliability Characterization
Corporate Research & Sector Description
Research organization generates advanced solutions for innovative products, in close cooperation with the Business Units. Our researchers work in a wide range of disciplines, from fundamental materials and device knowledge, CMOS scaling issues, information technology, design methods and tools, and digital signal processing, to chip architecture and design. They contribute to leading scientific communities, in industry standardization committees, and in various international cooperative R&D programs.
Group Description
The aim of the group "Device Modelling and Characterisation" is to create advanced device models and provide an expert characterization base. We keep strong links to the appropriate IC-Technology and IC-Design Research programs as well as with various business lines. We provide organization with timely solutions to future modelling and characterization bottlenecks based on world-class expertise in device physics, modelling and characterization.
One main theme in the group is to maintain a world-class specialized RF and analog measurement lab, where we have a set of dedicated measurement facilities ranging from low-frequency 1/f noise to 110GHz S-parameter measurements. These measurements, in turn, are used to build and verify compact models for basic elements in Integrated Circuits.
Job Description
We offer a temporary assignment (3 months to 12 months) to complete the following tasks: Using our passive load-pull setup you will perform on-wafer characterization of CMOS-based power amplifiers, first under normal operating consitions. Next, accelerated stress tests will be carried out in order to make a life time estimation under normal operating conditions. Finally, the reliability behavior under mismatched output load conditions needs to be assessed.
Requirements
You have a MSc, or a PhD, in Electrical Engineering. You have experience in large-signal RF measurements, and understanding of RF CMOS design, preferably power amplifiers. You are interested in relating the measurement results to the device/circuit under test. During your education and career you have demonstrated that you are creative, an excellent team player, ambitious and eager to learn.
