Description
A global pharmaceutical organisation requires an Engineering and Design Lead / Capital Project Manager to join their global engineering and technical operations division. They have a varied portfolio of projects currently being undertaken that include Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Consumer Products and Medical Device Manufacturing, Laboratories and lab renovations, new office and major office consolidations/renovations and renewable energy-related installations; across all of Europe.As the Engineering & Design Lead / Project Manager you will operate within the global Engineering and Design Group. This department is responsible for the organization, management, and coordination of the Design Firm`s activities to achieve the project objectives. The Engineering and Design manages the design process to ensure that facilities are designed in accordance with company guidelines, policies, and other regulatory requirements. They promote the introduction and use of innovative technologies and solutions, and identify opportunities and implement strategies to improve cost effectiveness and cycle time.
Key Accountabilities:
-Ensure the Design Team utilizes the Project Delivery Process Tools.
-Lead effort to select Design Firms for bidding.
-Coordinate corporate resources/subject matter experts for review of the design.
-Manage Design Firm(s) to achieve project objectives in compliance with the clients policies, guidelines, and the User Requirements Specification.
-Lead the application of Value Improving Practices such as Class of Facility, Value Engineering, Constructability Reviews, etc.
-Assure that LEED certification is achieved and that the certification process is followed.

-Construction Documents and Bidding Phase (CDs)
-Construction Phase (CA)
-Commissioning & Qualification Phase (CA)
-Operational Support Phase
Experience required:
-Engineering Degree required (Chemical, Process)
-Experience Project management of construction projects ideally within Biotech / Medical Device / Pharmaceutical facilities
-Extensive CAPEX (+?30 million) experience within a GMP / FDA regulated environment
-English language skills; other languages would be beneficial
-A proven track record in delivery of complex cross-functional projects
-Experienced practitioner of good project management practices
-Able to forge good relationships with project members in a matrix organisation, where the project manager does not have line management responsibilities
