An Offshore Logistics Company GmbH (OLC) delivers all required offshore logistic services along the lifetime of offshore wind farms are looking for a Resident engineer to have day to day responsibility for monitoring the works on the installation vessel on behalf of the Client and reporting findings The Offshore Resident Engineer will be familiar with the contract works information, design and conditions, Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan, the Owners` Specification and the contractors operating and installation procedures. There will be a requirement to attend meetings with the Installation Contractor and the client`s managers from time to time, either on the vessel or at the Port in Furness. Ad hoc meetings will take place as and when required. The Offshore Resident Engineer will need to be available, within reason, for events whether planned or unplanned.
Principal Accountabilities:
-Attending monthly progress meetings and sending correspondence
-Taking minutes where required at vessel meetings and forwarding them to the PM.
-Ensure all Environmental, Health and Safety incidents and near miss reporting.
-Alerting the General Site Manager and Project Manager to any perceived risks as they arise e.g. Early Warning.
-Providing assistance as required to review and prepare all documentation (letters, reports etc.) relating to claims, variations etc. whether received from the Contractor or to be issued by the PM.
-Assessing design, method or equipment changes and advising the PM
-Assessing and auditing Contractor`s documentation - e.g. H&S Plan, QA plan, Environmental plan etc.
-Ensuring that the Contractor presents copies of and maintains a register of all applications and all issued licences and permits which are required to be obtained by the Contractor for any aspect of the works.
-Reviewing as-built drawings and calculations and advising the PM and SM of any issues
-Prepare and issue a daily progress report
-Ensuring that the Contractor fulfils the requirements of the owner`s specification and only make a concession as per the agreed mechanism in the contract
-Ensure that the contractor executes the installation as per the approved contractor`s installation procedures
-Instructing the Contractor to stop the Works for immediate environment, health and safety or product safety reasons
-Promptly identify and notify the General Site Manager and Project Manager on any issue that may arise or have the potential to arise during the course of the works and shall provide assistance in resolving any issues.
-Assist and liaise with other contractors working on the project.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
-Good knowledge of current UK health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly the application of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 Previous experience in a similar roll.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Ability to identify a problem or conflict, identify potential solutions and analyse the solutions leading to a recommendation for the optimum solution
-Excellent attention to detail and good reporting skills.
-Be results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce clear and concise information/options/decisions to senior management.

Desirable:
-Experience of the offshore construction industry and/or wind energy
