Consultancy – 6 months: Multimedia Producer, Location: New York, U.S.

Founded in 2000, The Arcus Foundation is a leading global foundation advancing pressing social justice and conservation issues. POSITION SUMMARY

The Multimedia Producer is an experienced web and online video editor with fluent English language ability and in depth experience in human rights, conservation and experience in multimedia reporting for nonprofit or non-governmental organizations. This candidate will be responsible for producing, curating, disseminating and managing timely and relevant information through the Arcus Foundation’s multiple social media channels, and establishing new channels where relevant. The candidate must be able to create content that enhances the Foundation’s messaging and positioning, using language that connects with grantees and partners, the media, policymakers, international and national government bodies, academic institutions and the general public. Candidates will be highly skilled in multimedia content production with experience in online community management, and be collaborative, confident and capable of thriving in a deadline-oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, develop, curate and disseminate timely, accurate and relevant information in a range of media (text, video, audio) through multiple channels targeted at key audiences.
  • Manage social media communities and interactions, drawing out influencers and promoting key messages
  • Measure and demonstrate impact through collection and publication of periodic metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in journalism or related field required. Advanced degree desirable.
  • 8 years professional multimedia experience
  • International experience in human rights and conservation preferred.
  • Hands-on professional experience with online information sources and tools, including social media and networking tools
  • Proven track record working in close knit, multi-cultural teams in global time zones
  • Applicants must be available full time in New York between October 2012 and March 2013 and must hold U.S. work authorization

Salary

Payment is commensurate with experience.
