Management Support Officer - SC

We currently have a requirement for a Management Support Officer towork on an exciting new 5 month contract with one of our leading clients. The role is based in the area of Wiltshire Applicants are required to hold a current SC Clearance for this role or higher.

Job Description

The requirement for a Management Support Officer post is agreed with the respective Department or Function and the delivery of the role is Embedded with the Department/Function. Day to day direction is given by the Department Manager of the Department/Function in which the Embedded post is located.

The Support Officer has no line management responsibilities:

  • To provide support to any Departmental/Functional processes which may include, for example, preparation of management information reports/internal and external audits etc as appropriate to the activities of the Department/Function.
  • In box and diary management to Senior Staff.
  • To act as a first point of contact and communication focus for the Department/Function management team in particular, the Department Manager and the Chief Scientist and other key Department/Function personnel.
  • To provide support to meetings and visits organised on behalf of the Department/Function to include providing briefing packs.
  • Minute taker at various Department meetings.
  • To be able to work closely with another MSO in times of absence ie annual leave.
  • To support between 1 and 10 senior staff within the Department/Function to ensure the routine operational activities of the Department/Function are effectively supported

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Recent experience of delivering administrative support in a shared support environment preferably in a PA role.
  • Good IT experience, particularly in Outlook and diary management
  • NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • ITQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Evidence of good standard of general education eg GCSEs or equivalent including English at Grade C or above.

Desirable

  • Membership of Institute of Professional Administrators

  • Good standard of education or equivalent experience
