Investment Banking contract position:
Our client is one of the worlds leading fund management and investment banks who is currently seeking a Senior management Software Engineer for a contract position based in Galway.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills coupled with strong motivation for working in a highly customer-focused environment. The individual should have experience managing Agile projects, a strong technical background and be willing to act in a hands-on capacity where necessary. He/She will work closely with the delivery team to elicit requirements, develop a technical design, define scope, estimate tasks, and implement the solution.

Job/Opportunities:
- Work with US based product team to define the product roadmap, release scope and requirements
- Budgetary management of the project including business planning, day to day cost management.
- Provide coaching to the team including taking the role of scrum master.
- Resolve issues and/or identify approaches to solutions including identification, management and mitigation of issues and risks.
- Provide timely and accurate status to all stakeholders.
Skills/Experience:
- Bachelors or post graduate qualification in Computer Science or related discipline.
- At least 10 years overall experience in the IT sector with 5 years people & project management experience.
- Experience managing Agile development teams in the financial services sector would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience managing a product development team in the following technologies - UI (WPF), Middletier (Java), Back End (Oracle).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven project management skills - risk assessment & mitigation, project planning and tracking, working to agreed budgets, status reporting.
- Experience working in a global development model.
- Possess demonstrated customer orientation.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment.
- Strong customer facing and relationship management skills.
- Proven problem solving skills.
- Strong design and estimation skills.
- Ability to travel to the US on occasion.
