Description
1. Requirements
a. Looking for staff augmentation for a minimum 3 month engagement
b. Flexible with technical level
c. Flexible with locale
d. Flexible with time zone
2. Background
a. High volume Internet facing E-commerce web site
b. 2 primary datacenters, 115 load balancer instances and 4500 VIPs
c. Hardware mix includes Classic NS (7000's, 9000's, 10010's), MPX (10500's, 11500's, 17500's, 21500's)
d. Load balanced applications include web (HTTP/ssl), SQL (TCP), and proprietary (TCP)
3. Lower Level Tasks
a. Interact with technical and non-technical internal customers making load balancing requests
b. Generate scripts per customer specifications adhering to internal guidelines
c. Peer review scripts from other engineers
d. Follow Change Control process to deploy scripts into production, DR, and lab environments
4. Medium Level Tasks
a. Interact with technical customers regarding advanced topics (Nitro API, content-switching, policy expressions, etc)
b. Investigating alarms generated by monitoring tools
c. Troubleshooting VIP related issues
d. Migrate TCP/SSL_BRIDGE VIP's to SSL offload
e. Migrate VIP's from high utilized instances to new
f. Upgrade firmware on the Legacy equipment
5. Senior Level Tasks
a. Install new NS SDX 17500s to replace the Legacy environment
b. Perform capacity/allocation planning for the consolidation of physical instances to VPX
c. Build/configure VPX instances as per specification
d. Provide guidance for the logical design of a high throughput and flexible load balancing infrastructure
e. Assist business units with migration from Legacy environment to new SDX environment
6. Additional Desired Skills
a. Familiar with Citrix Command Center operations
b. Cisco routing/fw experience
c. Windows/Linux server experience
