Position Title: Configuration Engineer
Duration: Contract- 3 months
Location: Atlanta, GA
Our client is seeking a Configuration Engineer for a 3 month contract position in Atlanta, GA. The Configuration Engineer role will be r esponsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining, documenting and coordinating the configuration of client's platform hardware and software environments.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare software environments for Development and QA teams using automated scripts in AWS Cloud.
- Gather environment configuration information/specifications from Development, QA, Production Support groups; perform environment build-out using automated tool-set.
- Responsible for installation, configuration and troubleshooting of client's software applications in Development and QA environments.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate solutions regarding build-related and environment-related software issues.
- Coordinate, schedule & perform automated software deployments to target environments.
- Prepare, coordinate, maintain, and publish official software release notes and technical manuals, including installation instructions, technical environment configuration.
- Identify and recommend improvements in environmental build-out process and application software deployments.
- Participate in Change Control Board processes and procedures.
- Communicate software deployment plans and schedules to production support team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or proven equivalent work experience required.
- 6 years IT Operations experience installing and configuring complex Java, J2EE based software packages required.
- Experience installing and configuring J2EE applications in AWS Cloud, Linux operating systems and databases preferred.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Java, J2EE, XML, ActiveMQ JMS, Mule ESB, Flex, JBoss, Apache and Postgres preferred.
- Linux Shell Script experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of Software Configuration Management practices preferred.
