MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

In TS/WCM Safety & Methods in charge of Methods for all Well operations/activities including Drilling, Completion, Subsea and Light well intervention, Operations. Elaborates, reviews, supports, follows, reports and updates all the Methodology utilised both within the TS/WCM

 Dept Well Operations activities and also that which is associated with the various required interfaces with other disciplines such as Operations, Operational Safety, Safety Engineering, Information services, DCT etc. Both onshore and also offshore communication as required with the Field managers, OIM's, Project leaders etc

External communication with various metier FP personnel at HQ in reference to Methods and other related issues, communication with various contractors (Drilling, Service including Subsea Intervention) on methods and SMS interface related issues.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

  • Monitor the various FP referential technical resources, decide on relevance then distribute/dispatch to the various entities/project teams or individuals as required. Liaison with hierarchy as required.
  • Update the various Company referential required documents as and when required (blow-out plan, interface documents) as/when required to be adapted to new or revised FP Company rules and/or to new operational conditions.
  • Monitor TS/WCM well operations to ensure compliance with the Company rules and TEPUK CMS procedures. Liaise with the various project teams at engineer to Project leader level, review wellview daily drilling reports as required.
  • Keep up to date with technological innovations from Group & Industry, so as to promote better efficiency in operations. Question established/existing practices, propose alternatives so as to assist in achieving improvements in well operations.
  • Participate to improving the skills and know-how of junior WCM staff by ensuring the cascade of information and knowledge from past Total well operations and from experience.
  • Preparing/facilitating both the TS/WCM and often Production Operations derogation requests to various Company rules & General Specifications including collecting/checking accurate technical data is supplied from the various sources (The WCM project teams, Well performance, Operations, Safety engineering, Operational safety etc). Finalising the derogation dossiers and supporting risk assessments, ensuring requests are agreed between all TEPUK disciplines as/when required, dispatching requests to FP/EXP and HSE. Providing additional feedback to FP and other EP entities as and when required on any additional derogation request issues/points. Finalising the derogation process by communication of the derogation request answers to all relevant parties and archiving/tracking all active and historical derogations etc.
  • Participate to development of SIMOPS documents/procedures. By direct communication with FP HQ, WCM Project teams and Project leaders including also frequent liaison with major project teams (eg Laggan-Tormore, West Franklin etc)
  • Monitor, follow, validate all WCM reporting by liaison & direct communication with Well Ops Supts, Well engineers, Well TA's & Well Examiner. Ensuring that UK Legislative, TEPUK & TOTAL rules for record keeping are being followed as required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience as a Senior Drilling or Well Intervention Engineer/Superintendent with a strong operational background and detailed knowledge of the following:-

  • Well construction techniques and equipment, safety procedures for personnel and installations, group organisation, offshore drilling Rigs, UK
  • Well Operations and safety regulations, SIMOPS, well and environmental safety, emergency procedures/preparedness and management of major emergencies and well control including advanced well control techniques.

The ideal candidate will have the relevant professional experience in Drilling and/or Well Intervention operations and have the ability to learn and share knowledge.
