A respected Federal Government department is currently looking for an experienced System Integration Specialist.

Duties:

  • Manage and maintain SQLServer components in the Development, System Integration Test, User Acceptance Test and Production environments.
  • Prepare SQLServer impact change analysis and coordinate work through the change management process.
  • Design SQLServer changes to support enhancements to application and integration components.
  • Promote and implement SQLServer changes across environments (software configuration management).
  • Manage and monitor all SQLServer databases supporting a number of high volume interfaces.
  • Provide development and runtime support for the development of SQLServer Reports.
  • Provide support for Business Intelligence activities in a research environment.
  • Monitor SQLServer components performance (CPU, RAM & IO).
  • Perform SQLServer and SQL Query and tuning activities.
  • Provide input into capacity planning regarding SQLServer resource utilisation.
  • Design, implement and monitor SQLServer maintenance schedules.
  • Manage and implement all SQLServer standards.
  • Provide problem investigation support and rectification.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in supporting mission critical 24x7 systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of security issues and processes around ICT systems in classified environments.
  • An understanding of the maritime security environment including the different protocols and data standards used to communicate information.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining applications in a VM Ware Virtualised environment.
  • Experience with CommVault software.
  • Experience with SQLServer Reporting Services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Analysis Services.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with development and support of Microsoft .NET Framework applications
  • Experience with the maintenance and support of applications hosted on UNIX based systems such as Solaris 10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • ITIL knowledge.
  • Project management knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)

Requirement:

  • Applicants need to be Australian citizens
  • Applicants need to hold a security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) with the ability to obtain a Negative Vetting 2 clearance.
