Beacon Hill Technologies is working with a local Cleveland-based Client to staff a 4 month contract for an IT Operations Specialist.

Summary of Principal Functions:

  • Responsible for making sure that all actions necessary to control access and security to Client's IT infrastructure and assets are initiated and followed to completion. Proactive in acquiring appropriate approvals and
  • Maintaining all required documentation regarding access, security and changes to Client's computing complex.
  • Participates with IT Management and Client's Chief Internal Auditor in the planning, design and implementation of proper measures to protect electronic assets. This position ensures that all company policies and procedures are followed with respect to the granting of access to these assets and maintenance of key applications; including all associated hardware and software changes. This position will assist in other operational management processes that include but not limited to change management, access management and incident management as well as other duties as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities (in priority order):
Access Management

  • Notify responsible parties and obtain any missing authorizations.
  • Ensure that all required approvals have been obtained.
  • Coordinate creation of access IDS and passwords.
  • Coordinate quality assurance testing of new access.
  • Notify appropriate individuals when completed and provide login information.
  • Perform all control checks as defined by Client's Policies and Procedures.

Change Management

  • Receive, log and file Change Control request forms.
  • Track status of change requests through life cycle of the process.
  • Generate/publish weekly report of status of open requests.
  • Generate/publish other status or analysis reports as requested.
  • Coordinate communication of the request to all "need to know" parties.
  • Notify responsible parties and obtain any missing authorizations.
  • Ensure that all required approvals, user reviews and tests are obtained.
  • Prepare a 'Software Migration Request' form and submit to the appropriate systems administrator.
  • Notify 'requestor' when changes are installed.
  • Coordinate quality assurance testing of new access.
  • File change control and quality assurance documents appropriately.

Asset Management

  • Maintain an asset database for all IT infrastructure systems

Information Security Management

  • Help to develop and maintain departmental controls & guidelines
  • Education Needed:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience Needed:

  • 3-5 years of IT analyst and/or IT customer service.
