Technical skills
Must have core competencies:
* Windows server 2008 (Basic installation, configuration & troubleshooting)
* Server hardware (Dell &/HP: rack, configure RAID, etc.)
* Basic Networking (eg what is a switch/Router/VLAN/load balancer)

Must have experience of at least 3 of these areas:
* Virtualisation (Preferably Hyper-V )
* System Centre Virtual Machine Manager
* SAN administration (preferably NetApp)
* System Centre Operations Manager
* PowerShell
* System Centre Data Protection Manager
* Windows Clustering
* Cisco Switch Configuration basic
* iSCSI/FCoE
* SQL
* Data Centre facilities management (Power, UPS, Air Con)

Advantageous competencies:
* In depth knowledge of Hyper-V and SCVMM
* Very good knowledge of current and future Windows server technology
* Very good knowledge of server hardware and coming trends. Able to specify hardware solutions to customer queries
* Good knowledge of NetApp SAN administration (aggregate creation, deduplication, etc.)
* Knowledge of SCOM, SCDPM, SCVMM
* Knowledge of network design and configuration (including SAN network design and in particular iSCSI)
* Knowledge of Data centre management concerns

Experience level
* Minimum 2 years at 2nd level server support role.

Soft skills
* Must be a team player
* Must be able to work unsupervised
* A 'can do' attitude
* Friendly, personable manner
* Experience of working in a multi-national environment
