Description
At IT Alliance we have an urgent requirement for an Experienced Cisco Engineer for a 6 months + contract in Dublin.
- To validate and verify all Network elements prior to roll out.
- To ensure that all Network Elements are tested prior to roll out.
- Develop implementations plans with TDA
- Ownership Plan and conduct high risk and high impact network changes
- Conduct detailed customer engagements and consultancy ie traffic and application analysis, etc
- Act as a point of escalation for complex network faults and performance problems eg business link, etc
- Have an input into network design and requirements for future/existing network services
- Evaluating TDA designs with respect to practical/technical implementation
- Implement quality technical procedures around change/technical implementation. - Introducing Good Practice
- Ensure works carried out in the field are to the defined quality standards in a timely and efficient manner.
- Hardware Standards - To produce documentation for the standards, templates, tools and procedures needed for the delivery of Network elements.
- Technical Support/Customer Engineering
- To provide technical support to In-Service Teams, and resolve customer problems
- To provide support to the customer interface during the resolution of major customer-affecting, system problems.
- To support the Project Technical Design Authority in functional specification and trial work either during or after the implementation stage, by local agreement. This activity may consist of technical leadership during the design, evaluation and implementation phase of a major infrastructure/system enhancement, including hardware and software upgrades.
- Thorough knowledge of IP Protocol, MPLS, Routing, Layer 2/3 Switching, and QoS
- Previous experience of IP Telephony implementations, preferably using the Avaya IPT platform.
- Fully familiar with Security, Firewalls, Content Monitoring etc
- Cisco (Layer 3) configuration including OSPF,EIGRP and BGP4
- Competence in LAN switching - Spanning Tree, Trunking, VLans
- Strong network diagnostic skills
- Strong Project Management Skills.
Experience
- At least 5 years experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Professional engineering qualification.
- Cisco accreditation, ideally CCNP/CCDP or higher
- deally should have at least 3 years experience in a direct customer facing role
- Ideally should have experience in managing teams/virtual teams in delivering against specific customer expectations.
