Sr. Oracle Development Analyst - Technical

Summary:

The Sr. Oracle Development Analyst is a technical role where you will formulate and define system scope and objectives for assigned projects. The ideal candidate must have Oracle Applications, PL/SQL, and XML experience, and have experience with at least one of the Oracle Process Flows like Order to Cash or Procure to Pay or Project to Profit or Financials. You will prepare detailed specifications for programs and applications, and be responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. You need to have full technical knowledge because you will have the responsibility of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming; therefore you need to understand the business or function for which the application is designed. Your duties will also include instructing, directing and checking the work of other systems analysts and programming personnel. Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of other team members. Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of development best practices as well as create and adhere to quality and change control procedures. Mentor Junior team members in development, design, coding, documentation, and best practices. This is a 3-6 month contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing detailed program specifications through discussion with clients.
  • Updating, repairing, modifying and expanding existing software and generic applications
  • Participates in planning integration, system, performance and user acceptance tests.
  • Supervising a team established purely for a particular project, to write a specific section of the program
  • Manages project teams, tracks status and prepares project status reports.
  • Increasing program operating efficiency and adapting to new requirements, as necessary.
  • Conducting user acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and accurately
  • Maintains project statistics in support of status reporting.
  • Configures and specifies setup information required by application software packages.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring and appraising performance.
  • Responsible for quality assurance reviews.
  • Develops project charter.
  • Develops task level work plans.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent PC skills, database and communications software.
  • Possesses familiarity with all structured programming standards.
  • Oracle Applications, PLSQL, Xml Knowledge required.
  • Experience building easy to understand user interface for applications
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver in fast multi-project environment
  • Experience in one of the Oracle Process Flows like Order to Cash or Procure to Pay or Project to Profit or Financials
  • Knowledge Unix Shell Programming, Xml and Xml publisher a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle Workflow, Oracle Reports a plus.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred and seven to ten years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Upholds confidentiality.
  • Willingness to be on-call as required.
