Description

  • This entry level position is for individuals having limited telecommunications or electronic industry experience. 
  • Able to receive, analyze, monitor, and resolve problems within the wireless and/or Wireline network in a timely manner with assistance from higher level technicians or manager. 
  • Performs job duties that are well defined, specific, and task oriented, requiring a very short training period. Able to organize information, manipulate data, prepare basic reports and perform administrative work under general supervision. 
  • Will perform on-call duties, night shift rotations, and support weekend work and special events when situations demand. 
  • This position may require occasional travel between the different switch facilities as needed. 
  • CDMA, iDEN, Long Distance and international voice and data switching platforms, VMS, SMS, STP/SS7, HLR, DACS, Transport, Routers. AC/DC power plant, Test Equipment for RF and transport (DS0 through OC-192) 
  • Carrier add experience a plus Critical Thinking: Performs straightforward, repetitive duties from detailed instructions involving little variation, with standard practices or procedures. Frequently requires guidance on problem identification and resolution.

  • Makes decisions according to well-established practices and procedures or according to detailed instructions. Decisions are frequently reviewed by others. 
  • Ability to exercise flexibility and resourcefulness (with assistance from others) in challenging and/or perplexing situations. 
  • Ability to problem-solve through day-to-day network issues with moderate direction. 
  • Interacts with other individuals in department or work area. Exchanges of information are typically routine in nature and require minimal explanation and interpretation.

Job Requirements:

  • Specialized advanced vocational skills acquired on or off the job, typically gained through a combination of education and relevant experience, totaling 3 to 4 years of equivalent industry experience. 
  • Good written/oral communication skills are required. 
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office suite. 
  • Able to lift 25lbs 
  • Travel required. 
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (ie: shift work). 
  • Reliable transportation required.
