This expanding international organisation is currently seeking a hands on Engineer who focusses working with Unix and SAN storage space! The role will be an initial 3 month contract opportunity and will be mainly based in their client's site in Eastgardens and some travel may be required to the CBD from time-to-time.

This role will mainly focus on providing 2nd/3rd level user support as well as performing systems administration on Unix Servers and SAN storage technologies.

In order to obtain this position, you will be required to have the following background and experience:

  • Understanding of UNIX Servers, Operating Systems and related products
  • Detailed understanding of SAN technology, Storage Systems, Fabric Switches and related products.
  • Previous experience in the system administration of Unix-based systems for medium to large commercial institution
  • Completion of recognised System Administration Courses.
  • Extensive experience in open distributed systems in a LAN/WAN environment and TCP/IP
  • Familiarity with network devices such as hubs, Routers, modems
  • A sound understanding of most IT infrastructure; PCs, Mid-Range, Client Server, LAN/WAN, Operating Systems (eg UNIX, Windows 2003, Windows NT), Databases (eg Oracle, SYBASE and MS SQL SERVER) and different hardware platforms.
