Our client requires the services of a Web Content Architect (Web Specialist) to provide deliverables including, but not limited to, the following:
Mock-ups of Election's rebranded web site content and application templates that utilize the client's existing templates and follow the existing web design standards. All editable graphic files associated with the Election's rebrand web site design templates (eg vector based graphic files). Augmentation to the client's web standards documentation, as required, based on the work done on the Election's rebranded web site design templates. Mentoring and/or training for other Election Services staff, including knowledge transfer for sustainment Assisting Election staff in migrating their content to the client's implementation of OpenText Web Experience Manager and WebSphere Portal. Weekly/monthly status reports on project activities. Qualifications & Experience
2 + year experience working with web content management systems where content is managed by OpenText Web Experience Management (formerly Vignette) V7 or V8 and deployed through IBM WebSphere portal. Minimum of 3+ years experience working as a Web Specialist in a large enterprise environment. Experience in web design projects for large public service organizations, preferably municipal, is required. Demonstrated extensive experience to develop web site visual mock-ups, HTML prototype. Storyboards and style guides. 2 + years experience with VBIS or integration software for Web Content Management systems Strong analytical and problem solving skills, listening and interacting skills are essential. Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting technical materials, including standards, procedures, and technical specifications to all levels of management and staff. Post-secondary education in Web, graphic or visual design or the approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Capabilities:
Experience utilizing 'best practice' web design principles, navigation, usability and in implementing accessibility standards Demonstrated thorough knowledge, expertise, understanding and experience in implementing OpenText Web Experience Management software (formerly Vignette) V7/8 or an acceptable equivalent Web Content Management software. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language (DHTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), JavaScript, AJAX, FLASH, mobile web sites & apps, graphics formats, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), popular web plug-ins, web site authoring and management tools, including Web Content Management and related information repository and database environments. Knowledge of AODA (Accessibility) standards associated with web site development and WCAG 2.0 guidelines in web site design. Knowledge of multimedia (video and audio) content editing and publishing to the web Solid understanding and demonstrated experience in the capabilities and constraints of different web browser types and knowledge of resolving style issues across different web browsers.
