Estimator - central government - Milton Keynes - 6 months +
SC cleared - Security cleared - DV cleared - Developed Vetting clearance
Large central government organisation is seeking an individual who will be responsible for the compilation and delivery of Client Delivery estimates (£5K - £5M) to the Head of Estimating for approval and onward submission to Project Managers/Bid Managers to issue to customers.
The role holder will contribute to the definition, documentation and implementation of estimating processes as well as estimating methodologies that all estimates will be delivered against.
The successful applicant will operate within the Centre of Technical Expertise and will liaise with Design Engineers, Design & Development Managers and Project Engineers in order to define requirements and offerings and assisting in the development of the estimate of costs associated with them.
The current service/product offerings are Perimeter and Protective Security, IT and Secure Construction/Building Services Fit Out.
Essential:
* Experience in the compilation of estimates for construction and mechanical/electrical installations
Desirable:
* Able to demonstrate a significant knowledge of modern security, mechanical, electrical and building technology
* Knowledge of Project Management methodologies (Prince, APM etc.)
* Knowledge of current IT estimating systems
* Membership of recognised relevant professional institution (RICS, CIOB etc.)
