Role Description:
- Tactical data link sub-system specification and procurement, including:
- Development of sub-system requirement documents
- Modelling of data link operation
- Planning and attendance of data link trials.
- Calculating and applying data link power budgets
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and wider battlespace integration experts.
- Responsible for the acquisition of a tactical data link and assisting with its integration into a weapon system.
Skills and Knowledge
- Assessment of data link sub-systems
- Analysing data link performance in the presence of clutter (ground and weather) and sophisticated counter-measures.
- Generation of test strategies
- Degree qualified in numerate degree.
- Detailed knowledge of Link 16 operation and data sets
Desirable:
- Knowledge of current military communications systems
- Knowledge of spectrum management/co-siting interference calculations etc.
- Knowledge of current error correction, compression and encoding methodologies.
This role is for a leading Pan-European defence company with employees in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and the US. They specialise in missiles and missile systems and work with over 90 armed forces worldwide.
This is a contract role based in Stevenage paying £36.20 per hour Ltd.
