Engineering Planner
Rate: £20 per hour
Location: Crawley
Duration: 3 months minimum

Responsibilities:
To incorporate engineering change into production, commercial and spares so that product improvements are introduced quickly and cost effectively.
To incorporate engineering change from the PCP process so that products are released to the market on time and on budget.
To liaise with the buyers, suppliers, operations leaders, and commercial and spares planners when implementing engineering change.
To participate fully in introducing new products into manufacturing, and commercial and spares via the PCP as operations leader or lead planner when directed.
To participate as an active member of the engineering change lean cell 3. This includes the "ECO kick off meeting, attribute review meeting and the quotation cell"
To participate as an active member of engineering change lean cell 4. This includes the cleaning the ECO's and pushing the ECO's through manufacturing review to implemented.
To attend as and when required the following ad -hoc meetings.
To ensure that stock levels are maintained in accordance with departmental policies specified at the stock management meeting.
To seek to continuously improve the quality of service provided, and participate in business projects and process improvements (eg lean events).
To develop and improve the current standard way of working within the engineering change cells.
To develop and maintain a problem solving and escalation system to address and fix the issues at the root cause.
To develop and maintain the Visual Tools within the cells.
Must be flexible to be able to take on tasks as required within the cell.
To be the planning representative at the relevant product engineering maintenance meetings (PEMMs), product creation process (PCP) project meetings. Also to take responsibility to ensure the actions attributed to purchasing/planning are actioned to agreed timescales.
To be the purchasing representative at key product focused meetings.
Identify engineering change points of introduction.
Bill of material and manufacturing order amendments authorised by production permit (PP), concession, advance action engineering change request (AAECR) or engineering change order (ECO).
Stock management decision of ECO on Movex.
Build state register, updates of issue.

Professional qualification (eg diploma in operations management or CIPS) an advantage.
Experience of an ERP environment essential.
Experience of Movex ERP an advantage.
Experience of a PDM environment essential.
Experience of engineering central an advantage.
Experience of a global supply function essential, including direct contact with suppliers.
Experience of lean practices essential, within manufacturing and PCP environment.
Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
Experience of Microsoft office suite and Lotus Notes an advantage.
Willingness to accept responsibility.
Must be disciplined and focused within the cell environment but also flexible to attend as and when required cell meetings.
A team player and able to interact across departments and externally when required.
