The role focuses primarily on planning, monitoring and reporting against schedule and ensuring resources are adequately assigned. Managing and supporting a team of project employees. Identifying, managing, mitigating, resolving and escalating, when appropriate, project risks and issues. And undertaking project performance reviews.
To be considered for this role you will have the following;
1. Application development project management experience (at least 3 years government experience required)
2. Managing and coordinating the development or redevelopment of critical information management systems, including:
- Project control, including governance processes and financial control for at least two projects concurrently
- Development of project plans and related project documentation
- Managing business requirements elicitation and approval
- Stakeholder engagement and communication
- Proactively managing risks, issues, budgets, and scope throughout the project life cycle
3. Leading the procurement process and liaising with internal business units including legal and procurement branches
4. Liaising with external vendors and managing contract negotiations
5. Preparing briefs and ensuring appropriate communication with senior executives and business sponsors around program status and issues
6. Liaising and communicating with the business sponsor and content experts around the state to ensure that business needs are met and issues are resolved
7. Using a software development life cycle methodology
8. Managing a small team
9. Successful project delivery of projects up to $1.5 million
10. Understanding of and experience with using PRINCE2 methodology
