Senior Electronic Surveillance Engineer
Background
The CES and RFCE teams within SCD support a wide variety of programmes ranging from direct support to Front Line Commands (FLCs) to deep technical research under the ES Systems and EM Cyber projects. To support the variety of programmes skills in Digital Signal Processing, Software Engineering, Mathematics and Physics are required alongside domain expertise.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Act as a member of a project team, with primary responsibility for integration of the 3rd party radar sensor with Dstl software. Assist with field trials on MoD ranges Develop and code algorithms for detection and categorisation of modern comms signals Implement Algorithms on COTS Software Defined Radios Contributing to Technical reports and demonstrations
Skills/Experience Required
Digital Signal Processing 'C' family coding Experience of field trials and analysis of results Experience of modern communications standards and protocols Knowledge of modern Radar systems and their associated interfaces. Basic principles of RF system design
Formal Qualifications Required
Good Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics
