Job description:
Entry level for Unix/Linux operating system (Red Hat) engineer. Most recent work experience should be with a large Unix/Linux RHEL environment. The candidate must have and entry level knowledge of hardware platforms including but not limited to Dell, HP, IBM both rack able and modular (blade technologies). Must have basic knowledge of and be able to answer probing questions regarding the following protocols: SMTP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, NFS. Duties/responsibilities will span diverse environments such as development, test, and production.
The candidate will be working on the day-to-day operations related with: Configuring and tuning system and network parameters for optimum performance.
Monitoring system stability and performance.
Troubleshooting system performance issues, diagnosing problems, and correcting issues with technicians located in remote data centers around the country.
Ensuring 24x7x365 operation.
Rapidly scaling systems to meet demand.
The following qualification and skills are also desired:
Solid grasp of TCP/IP Networking fundamentals.
Multiple years of experience in fast-paced, high-availability production environments (eg ISPs, cloud computing etc.) with an emphasis on remote "lights-out" management of systems. A sense of urgency (but not panic) is key.
Outstanding troubleshooting ability.
Stellar verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills.

Educational Qualifications:
A four years degree in computer science, information science, management of information systems or computer engineering is essential.
