GREAT opportunity to work with Automotive Industry Leader in the Perimeter Area as a Senior Network Engineer!

MUST HAVE at least a CCNA, multiple data center support, large databases at least 1 gigabyte, devices.

Change Management is key and you must have at least 2 out of 3 the following 3:

  • Cisco (Routers, switcehs, VPN, wi-FI)
  • F5 Networking (load balancing) 
  • Juniper (Firewalls/basic network knowledge of Firewall)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • 24x7 On-call support.
  • Provide technical guidance/mentor members of the network group.
  • Technology and product review for Next Generation Infrastructure.
  • Provide technical architecture reviews of the network infrastructure.
  • Review proposed infrastructure changes of all other team members as well as other groups and departments to help avoid errors and mistakes.
  • Capacity planning and monitoring of all network infrastructures, devices and data circuits to keep ahead of future growth. Report capacity needs and concerns to the network and security manager. Work to ensure maximum network uptime.
  • Work towards providing a fully redundant high availability infrastructure at all times.
  • Work with other departments and teams to assist and support them with network infrastructure projects, initiatives and needs.
  • Troubleshoot all network outages or problems. Escalate necessary issues to the appropriate 3rd party vendor support team. Follow through to bring all network outages and problems to conclusion in a quick and efficient manner. Update the network and security manager on the status of all outages and issues.
  • Advise the network and security manager on new network technologies and solutions relevant to improving the Autotrader infrastructure.
  • Advise the network and security manager on network infrastructure, network device or policy improvements in an effort to maintain maximum network availability and efficiency. Improve the architecture of the network infrastructure while scaling for future growth.
  • Research and implement new technologies to improve and grow the network infrastructure. Monitor expiration dates of SSL Certificates. Install new SSL certificates.
  • Serve as a mentor to other engineers and help lead team from manager's lead.
  • Backup all network devices.
  • Complete all network projects by their deadlines. Notify the network and security manager in a reasonable amount of time if the deadline cannot be met.
  • Work with the EOC to monitor current network systems and Internet bandwidth utilization. Notify the EOC and all network and security team members of all network changes prior to their implementation.
  • Work to schedule all network and security projects in the weekly maintenance calendar.
  • Maintain operational guidelines, diagrams and documentation for all network and security devices and infrastructures. Attention to detail on all documents is important.
  • Provide weekly status reports on all network projects and tasks to the network and security manager. Abide by all network and security team guidelines and procedures as defined by Autotrader or the network and security manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A valid CCNA network certification or greater.
  • 5+ years System administration experience with large server base.
  • 5+ years experience with Cisco network equipment.
  • 5+ years experience with Firewalls and load balancers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of network design.
  • In depth experience and knowledge of production data center environments. A focus on maintaining maximum network uptime.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco, Juniper and F5 Networks product lines. Also have an understanding of other network vendors to compare current technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing and switching technologies and protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
  • Advanced knowledge of global and server load balancing. Specifically the F5 Networks product line of BigIP, 3DNS and eCommerce Controllers. This includes SSL accelerator technologies and load balancing algorithms. Advanced knowledge of high speed data technologies including Frame Relay, OC-3, T1, DS-3, and other private line connectivity.
  • Advanced knowledge of Firewalls and Access Control Lists to maintain perimeter and internal security. Knowledge of network device monitoring and capacity planning as pertains to production and corporate environments. This includes technologies such as SNMP, MRTG and other monitoring tools and protocols. Knowledge of VPN technologies such as LAN2LAN VPN as well as client VPN technologies specifically Cisco's VPN Concentrator.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of data center design.
  • A general knowledge of UNIX and Windows environments as may pertain to Network and Security tasks. This might include knowledge of syslog, DNS and BIND, BigIP command line on BSD, Windows Event Log and
  • Configuring Windows Network Applications such as SNMPc.
