Responsible for assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable success.

Education/Experience:
Computer-related or Engineering-related four year College or University Degree (or equivalent). Progressively responsible IT job-related experiences.

Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware and software and current development processes and tools. Ability to work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Working directly on application/technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions. Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components. Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure. Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.

Additional Opening Details (to Suppliers)
- Provide implementation of MySQL projects as well as required business support of current MySQL database environment.
- Work locally with MySQL technical leadership
- Install and configure MySQL databases
- Interface with customers to configure MySQL and vendor solutions to meet requirements
- Work with customers to validate business needs are met
- Work with application owners on change communications and scheduling
- Document and follow established MySQL technical procedures
- Deploy services packs/fixes, perform upgrades, provide maintenance and support for numerous Production and pre
-Production environments, independently.
- Troubleshoot user and system problems and resolve Helpdesk tickets, independently.
- Interface/communicate with various IT groups to request services, comply with all established change management procedures
- Provide off shift support via on call pager rotation schedule.
- Architect solutions to support database consolidation and centralization of existing applications from remote locations.
- Provide and share technical expertise with the current team. o Security o Backup & Recovery o Performance tuning 2) Deliverables: Provide a weekly report on project status, day-to-day support activities of current MySQL database environment including time spent on each task to MySQL Supervisor and Team Leader.

- Meet assigned project due dates
- Provide status updates on a weekly basis to MySQL Supervisor and Team Leader
- Provide status updates to project team lead as needed
- Provide day-to-day MySQL environment support in accordance to MySQL standards and best practices.
- Provide knowledge transfer on MySQL best practices.

Required Skills
- Proficiency with installation, configuration and upgrade of MySQL on Linux
- Ability to clearly document support processes
- Proficiency in MySQL security management
- Expertise in MySQL backup and recovery
- Proficiency with MySQL Scripting
- Proficiency with Shell Scripting
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to translate application analyst (customer) business requirements into MySQL technical requirements

Desired skills
- Expertise in MySQL performance tuning
- Knowledge of MySQL best practices
- MySQL application development experience
- PHP forms development
- Familiarity with Oracle & SQL Server technology & terminology.
