Responsible for assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable success.
Education/Experience:
Computer-related or Engineering-related four year College or University Degree (or equivalent). Progressively responsible IT job-related experiences.
Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware and software and current development processes and tools. Ability to work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Working directly on application/technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions. Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components. Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure. Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.

Web (Java) Developer required for continued Certification Data Management (CDM) development to support the migration of engine certification data to a single safe source. Resource is funded by Emission organization and approval to acquire resource was granted at Spend Review Directors. Agency resource satisfies directive of optimally sourcing IT activities. Java Developer position provides the opportunity to work with the Web Applications Team on the J2EE platform to develop/support Java Web applications. This position requires at least five years experience in developing Java Web applications, knowledge of SQL for database querying and a willingness to work on support activities. The applicant needs to be a results oriented team player willing to work on tight schedules.
Required Skills Qualifications:
Required 5 years of Java development. Java 2+, J2EE, STRUTS 1.2+, JSPs, Oracle 9+, WebSphere/Tomcat, JavaScript, Tiles, AJAX, RAD/Eclipse experience, Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) certification.
