Description
Our client is currently looking for an experienced UNIX/Linux Specialist to join their team on an initial 11 month contract in Melbourne.
As the Technical Specialist you are responsible for ensuring the stability of the UNIX and Linux systems.
Activities include:
- Incident resolution (after-hours support).
- Problem record/root cause investigation.
- Change deployment.
- Special events such as disaster redundancy testing and system patching.
As the Technical Specialist you will have the following skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience supporting and maintaining Solaris UNIX and/or Linux environments in a large/enterprise sized business.
- Exposure and understanding of ITIL in an enterprise environment
- AIX experience
- Experience with supporting and maintaining solutions utilizing VERITAS Cluster Server
- Experience with supporting and maintaining solutions utilizing VERITAS Volume Manager
- Experience supporting and deploying to enterprise environment (200+ UNIX/Linux Servers)
- Enterprise Storage management
- Exposure to Linux integration within an AD environment using tools such as Quest Authentication Services (Vintela), LDAP
- Use of tools such as Puppet for enterprise configuration management
- Available to work from either Wantirna South or City
- Experience managing DNS within a BIND environment
