Instrument Support Engineer - Aberdeen - 12 Months Contract
Summary
*Provide Onshore support to the Offshore Operations team to facilitate effective maintenance and repair activities.
*Act as Offshore/Onshore focal point for performance monitoring and troubleshooting of Instrument systems.
*Identify and provide cost effective engineering solutions to platform operations and maintenance problems.
*Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, improve reliability, and reduce operating costs.
Responsibilities
*Individually demonstrate positive HSE behaviour and awareness at all times and engage in clear conversation with personnel about HSE issues.
*Ensure positive HSE performance by personnel, contractors and others working under the direction of the Instrument Engineer.
*Ensure that Instrument engineering work (OPEX) remains within/below budget.
*Ensure delivery of a technically correct and timely Instrument engineering work (OPEX) service.
*Jointly responsible with Asset Supervisors and Engineering Team Leaders for prioritising Instrument (OPEX)/EQs to provide an appropriate level of Instrument engineering support.
*Engage and participate in any operational improvement process to optimise Instrument engineering (OPEX) support.
*Actively support the organisation's commitment to safety and environmental protection. Take a proactive role in identifying safety improvements.
*Provide Onshore discipline support to the Maintenance Planning process aligned to the AWMP.
*Provide discipline support to the review of PMRs within the SAP CMMS.
*Ensure work procedures are technically sound and carried out in accordance with in-house Management Systems and procedures.
*Provide recommendations for critical spares and optimise asset inventory.
*Pro-active role and Ownership as the organisations contract representative for asset support contracts.
*Pro-active role in establishing value for investment and continued use of services
*Act as liaison with other disciplines, vendor representatives, and manufacturers. Ensure vendor support is efficiently applied when required.
*Assist with the resolution of operational problems, including participation in and close-out of accident/incident investigations and equipment failure root cause analysis.
*Make regular trips Offshore to enhance communication and promote understanding of goals.
*Take ownership for the continuous development of your own personal and technical expertise and knowledge.
*Provide day to day support to the offshore Instrument workforce. Maintain daily communications with offshore and engender Team working relationships
Qualifications
*Degree or other relevant technical qualification supplemented with extensive practical experience in performing in a similar role
Essential skills/Experience
*Considerable experience of the oil and gas industry, predominantly gained in an engineering and production operations environment.
*Good working knowledge and application of relevant UK oil and gas industry regulations.
*Familiarity with quality processes and the application of continuous improvement tools is desirable.
*Proven ability to interact effectively at all levels and encourage a team ethos across core crew and subcontractors.
*Ability to work in a fast moving, customer focused environment whilst maintaining the highest ethical integrity.
*Computer literacy required on Windows based applications.
